Jacob Isaac

Jacob Isaac is a researcher and Masters student at the University of British Columbia’s School of Community and Regional Planning.

Jacob received his Bachelor’s degree in International Development and Globalization at the University of Ottawa. During this period, Jacob traveled to Morocco to study how remittances from Spain contributed to the social and economic mobility of women in northern Moroccan communities. His current research at the University of British Columbia explores the intersection between social epistemology and collective responsibility, with a particular focus on the challenges that arise when trying to establish these principles in participatory planning processes.

On the BRIDGE Project, Jacob is working on the Vancouver and Calgary case studies. He is interested in the ways that adaptive support policies could be expanded to assist businesses in preparing for future shocks and shifting to more environmentally sustainable practices.
